Technical FAQ

Danfoss publishes all product documentation through the official Danfoss Product Store at drives.danfoss.com. Search by product code (e.g., FC 102, FC 302, FC 202) or by the document ID printed on the product label. Manuals are available in PDF format free of charge. For older legacy products discontinued before 2010, contact our technical support team directly as older manuals may not be indexed online.

Danfoss hydraulic pumps carry a nameplate with a model code, serial number, and production date. The model code encodes displacement, control type, shaft type, port configuration, and approval options. Our technical team can decode model codes and identify equivalent replacement units. For Sauer Danfoss legacy units (series 15, 18, 45, 90), provide the complete code from the nameplate including prefix letters.

Compatibility depends on the specific valve model and configuration. Generally, the TX/TE series thermostatic expansion valves are available for R22, R134a, R407C, R410A, R404A, R452A, R454B, R32, R290 (propane), CO₂, and NH₃ (ammonia). Not all refrigerant options are available for every model. Use the Danfoss Cool Selector® tool with your refrigerant, capacity, and evaporation temperature to identify correctly matched valve models. Incorrect refrigerant-valve matching is a common cause of system inefficiency.

On-site commissioning support is available through Danfoss authorized service partners in major markets. Danfoss direct commissioning services are typically reserved for large projects such as complete chiller plant installations using Turbocor compressors or multi-drive installations. For standard product commissioning, we recommend attending a certified Danfoss training course and using the written commissioning guides. Contact us to be connected with a certified commissioning partner in your region.

Standard Danfoss product warranty is 24 months from date of delivery or 18 months from date of installation, whichever expires first. Extended warranty options are available for VLT® drives and Turbocor compressors on a case-by-case basis. Warranty coverage requires installation in accordance with published guidelines and excludes damage from incorrect application, incompatible refrigerants, or electrical surge events. Contact your authorized distributor for warranty registration and claims processing.
